I dont have another tank unfortunately, but I will cut off a frag and put it on my frag rack. I still have many acros/colonies that are doing very well and growing very fast.

Well I hope you don't need it and that you get this back on track. Impressive tank build in the 6 or so months!!

This Trident is awesome.... The spike on the left side is from calibration. I want to get a second DOS now to automate my dosing.

What did you do to correct your issue? Let things take its course or try to correct it manually?

Nothing at all besides just try to keep things as stable as possible, change out the carbon, and up the water changes from 1l a day to 3l a day.

I recently increased my nutrients to bring back some color in my coral, so that change may be playing a part.

The data you can get from the trident is great. Heres my alk levels vs pH over the past few days without changing anything on my end.

Ran an ICP test because of the issues that I have been having, nothing out of the ordinary except low iodine: //lab.atiaquaristik.com/share/b7d253f6ea2c7750ec2f

:mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad:

Lost half of my Walt Disney colony while I was at work. This is the most infuriating thing I have ever dealt with. I’m watching my corals melt and have no idea why.

Your salinity is also quite high; 38.48 in the ATI results and 37.92 if you use a calculator based on your levels.

Both my refractometer and Hannah checker come back at 35. An ICP salinity can be high because it reads other stuff besides NaCl.

Or it could actually be high...

Have you calibrated the refractometer recently?

I seriously want that trident btw. So jealous. I’m sorry for the issues [emoji24]

I tested my water, ran both against calibration and then tested again. Been using this same test equipment for months with no issues. 1.206 and 35.6 ppt were my results.

I threw some cuprisorb in my reactor in the event there is some metal or toxin of some sort in my water.

It’s also strange that only some of my acros are showing any signs. Others have doubled in size over the past few weeks and my alkalinity uptake as been increasing slightly. My nutrients have always been low, but I recently started moderately dosing nitrates so I sit at 2ppm, as well as dosing acropower.

I think the photos you posted are pretty consistent with an alk spike combined with low nutrients... I had something similar using GFO in a newer tank (obviously wasn’t needed yet) and an alk spike. Corals all lost color and some had the burnt tips.

It’s been so long, but I think we lost some too. They just never recovered.

Maybe try to salvage frags of the healthy parts, that’s what I usually do when I see an SPS colony going downhill :(

Here’s my alk data since 5/29 I also double checked this today with my Hannah and it matched as well.

I can try slightly lowering my salinity over the next few days and see what happens I guess... I’m out of other ideas at this point.
