Just as the title says

Do you rinse your food to reduce phosphates and other additives before feeding?

How much of a difference do you notice?

Do you just rinse frozen or do you include pellets/flakes as well?

I do not, and I have a suspicion that some folks who see a potassium decline over time may contribute to it by rinsing frozen foods.

Potassium is almost entirely held inside cells, freezing breaks cells open, and rinsing can wash away the internal potassium.

Thats interesting. Is it only potassium that would be stored in the cells?

how would one rinse flakes? lol

how would one rinse flakes? lol
I mean you never know what people do and why lol

Soaking them in tank water to help them sink better I guess it can go hand in hand

Assuming frozen I never rinse but I also don't fret over what many consider elevated PO4 levels (0.1 - 0.9)
mine are around that level but I think corals do better at lower .02-0.2 just an opinion

I do that occasionally, but that doesn't accomplish "rinsing" because you're also dumping the water right into the tank

Oh no doubt some coral do. My acro tank runs near zero with no intervention on my part. I usually dump the liquid from the thawed food in that tank for the corals. My tank with 8 tangs, a pair of CBBs and a handful of other fish is much higher no doubt because of my over feeding but my softies, a couple lps including an 8yo bubble coral and two monticaps all do very well at higher levels.

I do currently. May stop doing it. Am hoping to being phosphates down a bit from 0.9ppm.
Mine were at .84 the other week. Im also hoping to bring mine down lol.

No -- I don't rinse.
If anything I hope corals like the "juice".
I would probably feel the same, but my aiptasia infestation has me thinking twice about broadcasting more than I already do.
