5x2x2 tank. Complete novice so will be starting with easy corals, I've narrowed it down to the evergrow it5012 or 2x radion xr15 g5 (will get a 3rd if I go sps). Evergrow is the cheaper option but I don't like that there is no app and is remote control only.... thoughts?

Got 2 5012 for my reeftank, very similar measures. They'll grow anything if the water quality and parameters are right. 2 XR15 s wont give you the "blanket of light" that 2 5012 will provide. regarding app vs remote, yes, app is easier and more convenient but the schedule is not something that you will change that much. and you always have the manual program on the 5012 to mess around with colours or to try out different combinations.

I would get 2 5012, even though they have rise in price they are still a better value in my opinion. There is a guy on instagram that has developed a chip for the whole range of evergrows and apparently is fantastic. total control of the lamp for 40 quid.
