Halogen light for starter reef

so just started off with my first tank that is 38 gallon with a basic fluorescent tube light bulb on top. who makes a good high output version for starter corals and is blue better than white?

Do a search for
T5 high output
as I assume you have a T5 bulb prob 36"

You'll get a lot of varied opinion here.... some like Actinic and Blues dominant, others like the White 10K and above . I utilize a mix of both. 2 lamps minimum is what I would suggest to start , perhaps one of each, plenty of reputable manufacturers. As for lamps I purchase Giessman religious, that is a preference as well.... check your ballast that it will handle the HO tubes, and also does it incorporate a reflector?
