I am buying a 4'x24"x30" tank next weekend and trying to figure out about the lighting. I want either the 4 hydra 32 or the 3 hydra 64. I just can't decide it will be a mixed tank but more SPS than anything. Having the 32s would give me more spread, but wouldn't the 64 be better for SPS?

any input would be awesome.

You only really need 200-300 ish par for SPS. The hydra 32's are going to light the corals from more angles and will avoid hotspot issues.

Do you think 3 or 4? i feel 3 would cover it just fine but 4 would prevent any shadows though

I linked a BRS video below which might help. Renting a par meter will be handy is possible. 3 looks like it could work since in the video they are not maxing out the intensity. You could try 3 and rent a par meter to see how you like it.
