Better problems to have [emoji23] probably time for a super upgrade so that all can fit [emoji6]
I have been busy with solar panels, which delayed my UREEF project. Than in will have about 5000 liters
I want to pursue sustainable reefing to the max.

Perhaps you could research some of the groups attempting to restock the coral reefs? Maybe I'm crazy, but never know if any are near by or willing to pay for you to send them large amounts of frags.
I have a friend (tim wijgerde) who does coralscience and research. I shared a few prunnings with him for his past research.

Shipping corals is not cost effective from holland to anywhere, because the existing import lines are way more efficient. Just reality...

Sorry but this is kind of strange....Glenn, you are a very known Dutch retailer who invented the so called DSR method.

Good for you, but you are a professional and not an average hobbyist. You don't sell your frags to hobbyists, you distribute them to several different shops in the Netherlands. This is common knowledge in the Dutch reefing community and documented on several Dutch fora.

Maybe you don't intend to, but this post just does not feel sincere....
Yikes, save a little of that salt for you water changes. :p

Beautiful tank as always Glenn

Proud ... yes...

Still hate the fact how the tank looks after prunning and rescaping.
Still hate the work involved with rescaping.

All just facts to be shared with reefers who care to learn more about successes and failures.

Haha ...
Some really think i am kidding around or just trolling.

It's more than that...
In holland many reefers have this "problem".
Many just throw their pruning into the bin, because they can't get rid off these.

By sharing thoughts we might come up with a practical and executable solutions which might benefit all parties involved.
You know Glenn, with the tremendous success you have, is it possible that some of the coral trimmings could be reintroduced to a natural reef? I wonder if a University somewhere would want to use donated frags to determine the feasibility of repopulating a natural reef.

Serious question....
We see so many super reef tanks such as this one (WOW) from the Netherlands - why? Don’t mean this as a disrespectful question - there seems to be a lot of the Dutch passionate about this hobby but is it down to better knowledge, equipment or products not available elsewhere, is the hobby cheaper than say in the UK so reefer can afford more corals or better ones? Or just that the Dutch are better

This tank is stunning and I ve seen a number of reef tanks like this from the Netherlands.

Glenn how long has this tank been running and out of interest what are the parameters?

Once again stunning tank.

Chris

Chris

There has always been stunning and inspiring tanks all over the world.
The main difference with dutch reefers today is that many of them are succesfull without the waterchanges.
It requires some research and studying, which is also the foundation for their successes.

I have build a portal to share and facilitate these reefers http://www.DSRreefing.com

Ommitting WC is an ecological-, environmental responsible, and smart way of reefing. It saves on space, time, technical investments, resources, transport, fuel, water, and labour. At the bottomline it is cheaper, making is affordable for the very price consious dutch reefers. Due to this the recent trend is to GO LARGE. The only limition is the size which the house and wife would allow.

When you save money and time on maintenance things only get better and there is more to be spend on new gadgets, equipments and lifestock.

I hope this sums it all up for you.

How this apply to other countries is a matter of how much are they willing to invest in time to learn and adopt new ways.
My experience is that most people like their comfort zone and shutoff changes.

Instead of complaining maybe you should start helping? This question can seem very condescending to some people. Try to be thankful for what u have and share the luv!
P.S - my tank is a year old and I can’t seem to grow an SPS to save my life.

I realy hate this....[emoji33][emoji33][emoji33]

I love the corals, i love the many species, i love the beauty of it all, i love the growth/growthrate.
But the one thing i hate is pruning and the aftermath....
- I hate the work involved.
- I hate it that the tank look like **** in the weeks/months after.
- I hate lobbying with the cuttings.

How do you guys deal with excessive growth?

Reefing is about knowledge and dedication to the hobby. Start your research with reading more about how to maintain water quality.
I took control over waterquality and don't do waterchanges anymore. This system is called DSR.
Read more about it in here:
