Jumbo BRS bio pellet reactor setup

So I'm trying to set up my BRS bio pellet reactor and I cant get the pellets to tumble. I'm using the Jumbo pellet reactor with 3 cups of pellets and a MAg 3 to push them. I cant get the pellets to tumble. THere is a red valve on top of the reactor does this have anything to do with the reactor working properly? does anyone have experience with this? I wouldnt think it's the power of the pump it's only has to go up about 8 inches

I have the same problem with a phosban 550 reactor with a maxijet1200 pushing it.... I'm not sure what the deal is man... There is a ton of flow and the pellets barely tumble.. I got maybe a cup in there and there not tumbling... When I get to the recommended dose of 1000ml it's never gonna work...:( hmmm maybe someone can help...

Did you soak them? And I think the valve controlls the water that comes out

I didn't soak them but they have been in the reactor for 5 days now... I keep stirring them and nothing they tumble in the bottom 1/2" and that's it...:(

Yeah I didn't soak mine either. The instructions didn't say to. Mine aren't really tumbling at all. I may just have to get a bigger pump but don't know why cause the mag 3 is what brs recommends. I had to use the jumbo reactor cause I need 3 cups of pellets. It's pretty darn big. I also have a mj1200 with the HC gfo from brs in the standard reactor and it doesn't tumble much either

I heard of people soaking them in RO for 24 hours. Not sure you should ask around about soaking them.

I'm using a Avast reaction chamber and a maxijet, ecoBAK pellets. I should prob have more flow to get a tumble. I only get a tumble on half the pellets only after a decent cleaning. I try and remove the pellets from the chamber and rinse them in tank water to clean them up. I think the removal and cleaning helps out a lot.
