Have a kessil a360we which has been been over my new tank for about 3 to 4 weeks now. I've been slowly ramping up the intensity starting at 5% and increasing 5% a week. I'm just starting at 20% now. My tank is only a 16-17 gallon. What intensity should I ramp up my lights to? Was thinking 40% or so?

That shallow , 40% may be to much. Its easy to burn corals with LED lights. And your light is strong.

I would also take longer then 5% a week

Key is watching your corals health and color, they will tell you, just looking at extension

I'll try and rent a par meter. Hopefully I can find one local.

Height above the tank will also make a difference...just a general comment. A PAR meter is definitely a good idea, if you can get one.

I've had mine for quite some time. 2 over a 90g. Currently at 95% intensity. Haven't measured par though.

5% increase is fine, but wait another week or so and pay attention to your corals. They'll tell you if you've gone too far. Go slow and you should be fine, but agree a par meter will help out here.

I have that Kessil over my Nuvo 20. Lens is 8 inches above water. Intensity is 55% at peak. Color also ramps up to 65%. I raised the values about 2% a week.
