It's a long story, but basically, I can't add any new livestock or coral etc for 4 more months in one of my tanks, and the tank has nothing but sand, rock, a single clownfish, and a caulerpa plant which he treats like an anemome and nudges and bobs all day. But the sound of doing that all day, every day for what about a year in total it's going to be is pretty sad. During this time it also won't be getting any kind of interaction from people, other than a once a day feeding. Should I be concerned about it getting "lonely" or "depressed"? May this cause aggression when I restock the tank at the end of this time period?

As long as you keep up with food and water needs that fish only has you to keep it company.

My experience is that when we take care of a fish it looks to us. We don’t take up swimming space or steal food and generally a fish can thrive without the aggregation of a tank mate in our aquariums.

It’s like renting the diplomat suite in a nice hotel. Room service, bed changes and freedom to not be pestered
