As title states, I recently acquired a Canon Rebel EOS T6 with an EFS 18-55mm macro lens with a amber polarized filter and haven't had much time to tinker with it but here are a few shots I've taken that I think came out okay. I'll be investing in a tripod, nicer macro, and Building an Obsession porthole ASAP, taking photos is just as addicting as collecting once you get a good lens and camera in front of you! I appreciate all pointers and advice in advance, constructive criticism only please!

LOL, I as just looking at lenses
I would recommend my lens for the price, but I have to be honest 90% of my photo shots came out terribly blurry and I used to think I had steady hands! This lens came with the Canon I bought so I'm not complaining and doing the best with what I have. If I had a tripod and area to work with a tripod it may not be an issue at all. Not sure, I know hardly anything about photography lol.

That makes two of us that have a few things to learn about photography. I found a really good priced tripod on Costco.com :) I would like a 100mm macro lens

Nice, I will have to checkout that tripod! Yup, I'm taking photography a day at a time like I do with aquariums, patience is key! I also CANNOT wait for that 100mm macro.

Nice shots ; where these taken with a porthole or did you hand hold the camera above the water ?

Thank you I appreciate it! The tank is 10" tall and 8' long acrylic. So I am able to get close to them holding the camera above the water. I took out a couple buckets of water to drop the water line a bit to fit my head and camera within the canopy to have a bit more room to work.

These are camera friendly dimensions, nice trick

This is a colony bought in Sept 2016. I've named it the Red Velvet Shortcake. Polyps are dark red.
