Hi need some help please.
Every time I turn off my pump on my 55gl tank to feed my fish the suction goes down to my sump with no overflow great, I have a drilled hole on the return tube at water level for that reason , problem is when I turn the pump back on it hums that is on, I have to lift the pump out of the water level of the sump so it can release air out or in so it can restart sending water back to the tank ! I know is an air problem or is that my pump going bad ?

Welcome to R2R!!! My guess is it's a mag drive pump but I may be wrong. In any case I would suggest takin the pump apart and giving it a good cleaning and inspect the impeller for damage.

Have a new question, I had an ich disaster on by 55 gallons saltwater tank I couldn't save the fish all gone !!![emoji26] I use real ocean salt water, plus use live rock and artificial corals it's been 2 weeks without fish all I have is a red fire shrimp and a bristle star , is it 4 or 8 weeks my waiting time before I put new fish in the tank ?? I asked this cuz because there's so many versions 4 weeks 8 weeks more weeks ? Thanks for your inputs
