Btw. Can anyone weigh in on this color on the salifert pH test. I have no idea how to read this. I’m on 8?

Just a fyi. That's not how you read that test kit. You have to read it from above. With the sample sitting on the white background. Try not to cast a shadow. What I do is I get half of the sample on the white and the other half over the color chart.
The closest matching color will blend into the color of your results if that makes sense.

OK, here it goes,

Alk - 7.8
Cal - 435
Mag - 1350
NO3 - 0.5 - 1 ppm (low, but I feed constantly. Only running a skimmer for nutrient control.)
PO4 - 0.03
Temp - 78 - 79.5
Sg - 1.027 (a little high, it crept up over several months. Slowly bringing it down a little. Everything looks good at this higher Sg. Just want to bring it down to give me some room for error.)
Ph - Never have tested for this.

I don’t know. My Salifert kit says “compare colors by looking through the side” I don’t believe you look through the top.

If I'm not mistaken you look at the top with the nyos and redsea test.. I look through the side on salifert too.

As of last night:

Salinity - 35ppm - Milwakee- I like to check the day before a w/c
Alk -9.2 - Hanna
Cal-450 - Red Sea
Mag-1480 - Red Sea
Po4 - .03 -Hanna
Po3 - 5 -Nyos
Ph- Ranges from 7.8-7.9 (Apex) Since carbon dosing I can't get about 8 anymore so I may try a scrubber. I used to be 8.1- 8.3

Phosphates are tricky. You may have them when you think you don’t. But you may also have none. ;Blackeye
My sps that died took it to the grave with them I think. They grew really well and fast then paled and slowly starved themselves. I need more fish waste in my tank, good excuse to buy more fish.

Here are my results from early May. I just sent out samples to see if the biopellet reactor I re-installed is having a positive effect on phosphates.

The iodine result has me perplexed. If it really is that high it hasnt killed any invertebrates yet.

Oddly mine asks for 5mL water and 6 drops. Expires in June 2020

My salifert NO3 is top view but side view for a more concentrated sample.

@ylreefer - I was just at your house last week or so? I know your parameters. Let me add a pinch of salt and see how your stuff holds up :p
