Can I get your thoughts on what this worm could be? It’s just under 1” long and showed up on the glass one day. It was still in the same place the next day and then it had disappeared by later the 2nd day.

I never saw it move. It has white feathery looking head end and smaller white tail end….hmmmm.

As I’m writing this I realized there was a feather duster/fan worm that showed up sitting on the sand bed directly below where this yellow worm was on the glass (2nd picture). Could they be one and the same creature?!

likely one in the same.. the worms are usually reddish orange (in my experience)... rarely out of their tube, but ya... he might of got spooked and jumped ship.

As I was doing the water change today I wanted to move that new fanworm onto the rock rather than right against the glass on the sand bed. Turns out it started jumping ship as I was moving it around to place it! I know what it is now!

Looks like a Phylodocid worm, which can or may feed on coral tissue. Eliminate to be safe
