Will white light grow chaeto

I've used various lights to grow Chaeto - 5500K CFLs, 8-watt LED (mogul base) and currently an old BuildMyLED 6500K strip light. Chaeto has an incredibly low minimum light requirement (compensation point) - otherwise, the strands within the 'Brillo pad' would die.

Although white will, I switched to Red and all I can say is wow when I now give away chaeto monthly
