SPS TANK ( Frag Photo Update) When I don't Look/Touch/Fiddle (And a little bit of Additives , PO4=0.12 Stable)

Been so busy....that I forgot to look at Tank Completely.

Was pleasantly suprized....to see improvements across the board.

Amazing to see the Near Dead Forest Fire Digi recover completely. (seen on photo above...Bottom)
This was the Forest Fire a few weeks ago. (I never pruned it....it recovered growing over dead skeleton)

Call me STUBORN.....but I didn't remove the PHOSBAN....Since I really wanted P close to 0.1. (Worked hard for a month to reduce it slowly)

(P is now stable around 0.12 ppm. No idea what N is but last week is was still stable at N=25ppm )

I think it was a good decision, and another good decision was to go back to Coral Feeding [Reef Roids+PolyBooster, with AquaForest ABEV full dose not 1/3]..... (not as often, but consistent)

See, I told you! The secret is not doing anything, or obsessing over anything. works like a charm :D
Yes, you were right.

Now I need to figure out way to keep MY HANDS out of my tank (forever).
Projects like Feedmate.....which you and I and the gang are working on...help.
Need something similar after we finish. Or else I may go back to old Habits.

Well, next project could be a small tank guillotine. Activated by hands trying to go into the tank. That seems harsh though. Maybe just a shock bracelet that activates near the waterline. Like those invisible dog fences.

My clown is good for keeping hands out...
Really. Your clowns nip at your hands?
I've had various clowns over the years and none did that.

I kind of thought maybe a Foxface Fish would keep my hands out. Or a Lion Fish, Trigger Fish. (But not all are coral safe)
But that's not my problem. I actually don't put my hands into tank. If I do I wear shoulder length rubber gloves.

My problem is fiddling with the OVERALLL Tank setup (always trying to make things better).

My female is a biter, she actually went carpet surfing trying to get me. I had to pick her up and put her back after looking at her on the floor and thinking "hmm maybe you should sit there a while". No, picked her up and put her back no worse for wear.

Did you have much of an Alk drop using phosban? I am just going to be adding some and curious how closely I need to watch it.

The right fish will keep your hands out of the tank. Video was supposed to start at 3 minutes!

NOW THAT is one SCARY FISH.
Pretty creepy video at the beginning....Waiting for what he will do.

NO THANKS!! I just will get hand-cuffs or something like metal bars over my tank to keep me out.

Phosban...DID NOT AFFECT ALK at all.
It did not affect any water parameters, except Phosphates (and even that was very slow, and I had to replace Phosban a few times, since I think it exhausted).

Slow is good for P drop. Be patient.

BAD NEWS ( 2nd Original Cariberryi Anthias Died) 3 in QT OK.

So I found a carcass floating in tank today. 99% sure the Cariberryi was alive yesterday.
I'm assuming he died being alone.

Glad I got 3, since I was planning on only 2 to add to DT.

Keeping fingers cross that 3 go to DT and do well.

If not. NO MORE ANTHIAS ever!!

If you want to try another anthias I have suggestions on some more hardy ones that should last just fine.
Nope. The 3 in QT are the last Anthias I get. Either they do well, or I move on to other fish types.

The whole Anthias (extra/more-often feeding) kind of bugs me. Bit extreme that I had to build a Fish Feeder Reminder Controller. (fun, but overkill)

As I read these Cariberryi do better in groups. I never got a group going, and the 3 were going join the one that just died. I was too late.
(Or this one die similar to last one. Copper Treatment damaged Organs in QT)
However I did not want to risk rushing moving them DT in any way.

3 will be nice if all goes well. (They were not treated with anything except lots of food, and Two types of Vitamin Additives).

Lol, yeah you said you were done with corals before you got the last 6 too. So when you want some that aren't finicky let me know I'll get you some bullet proof ones. They're cheap too!

Yes Rakie, I did get some SPS but not recently. Things have been stable and static (which I like).

BUT I HAVE A decision to make....

Some Territory shuffling is going on (after the Anthias died yesterday).

That Right side Island was the Last Anthias home.

Now the Black Cap Baselet has moved over. He always was on left side. ( He is my most favourite Looking fish)
Actually it looks like everyone is interested in that SPOT.
Looks great with all that Acitivity in that area.

I would ideally want to add the 3 Anthias now before that cave get taken over by a mode Dominant DT fish.

The 3 Carifberryi Anthias have been in QT Since Nov 7th. TWO WEEKS.
They are eatting very well (vitamins and food), and no sign of illness.

Should I wait longer in QT. Fatten them up?

Or move them now while the opportunity is there?

Always a risk to shorten QT.

Been thinking.......

As much as I have the TYPICAL ITCH to make DT more fun......

The 3 Anthias are safer in QT, and same for fish in DT.

-> I can continue to watch them for health in QT. (Treat if needed)
-> I can fatten them up (no competition for food)
-> They will get bigger and stronger for the Transfer into DT.
-> The 3 Anthias can establish a relationship/school and one will become Dominant/Male
-> NO RISK to DT fish that I worked so hard to get into there with many QT's

JUST PLAIN OLD dumb to move them. PATIENCE IS THE KEY TO SUCCESS!! (Time to listen to my own advice).
