Ok so we're beginning to think about restocking and the first thing we want is one or a pair of clowns...

Now theres a lovely Maroon in my local, shes very gentle and used to host a Nem before it got sucked into something and destroyed... she'd be our first choice...

But i've been thinking deeper into it and have decided to ask you what nice clowns there are out there that are different, but not too pricey and not too hard to get hold of, something my local could prob find for me should i ask!

Our last clowns were just false clown pair and also had a Tomato clown, but thinking something a little different this time.

Might be worth mentioning i'm in the UK as maybe theres types of clown readily available in the US and maybe not here?

anyway, throw some names at me so i can google, or even better piccies :xd:

I would stay away from maroon clowns, they are very agressive towards any other fish, I would try to get some Onyx, Picassos, Snowflakes, there's way too many choices to choose from. Good luck.

You should consider leaving your tank fallow of fish for a while after the big loss. Some fo the fish likely picked things up when they were on their way out, and you don't want to doom new fish before they even hit the tank.

Oh no i'm not planning to get anything soon, we're just beginning to think about what we do want and choosing carefully as not to make mistakes again, wrong types of damsels last time, we know what we're Not having again anyway, lol

Theres just so many nice types of clowns about, the saddlebacks, picasso's etc... and as we can only have one pair to a tank, we thought we'd get something a bit different this time round :)

The maroon we we're considering is fine with other fish, i know what you mean though, he has one in the tank beside it that won't tolerate any other fish, corals or anemones, it just kills them, I guess it can be down to the individual fish, its picking up the right one that can be the problem. But may not have her anyway, shes alone and it would be nice to have a pair of clowns, just miss seeing the old pair floating on the toadstool!
