I have an IM 20 gallon drop off peninsula and while moving it, the corner barely hit a table and cracked the glass. The crack itself is positioned at around half the height of the tank. So with a 17” tall tank, it’s about 8 inches from the top of the surface. The crack itself propagates about 1” to 1.5” into the pane. In regards to the pressure it’d feel at the point of the glass Pressure = pgh, so (1030 kg/m^3)*(9.8 m/s^2)(0.2m) =2,018.8 Pa = 2kpa = 0.29 psi. So not that much pressure.
The glass itself is 6mm.

Would using an epoxy repair kit for windshields work, or just use silicone or something else to fix a crack like this?
I can’t feel any raised glass on the outside or inside where the line appears.

Cracks like these are tricky… the issue is that any crack is liable to propagate with very little force!

This said; even if you were to, say, silicone another piece of 6mm glass over the cracked area… I’m imagining accidentally bumping a rock into that pane and having it split in half!

Would it be worth considering replacing that pane of glass completely?

You can silicone another piece of glass over it for a temporary bandaid but you’re definitely going to want to replace that. It’s not a matter of if it will fail, just when at this point.

I just requested some quotes from glass shops in my area to see if they could do it, so I guess we’ll see how much it costs. I got this tank for really discounted at a RAP years ago and it’s unique, so I definitely want to save it if possible. It sucks that IM no longer makes these or any other manufacturer really.

I agree with above, I'd just prepare to replace the tank. The risk is not "if" but "when", and unless you spend more time next to your tank than not, it's most likely to fail when you aren't there to catch it.
