MQ-210 LED Correction Factor

So I accidentally rented a MQ-210 vs 510. I have done some searching and getconflicting information. When using the 210 for reading LED’s do I need to use a correction factor? A couple of posts say you have to multiple by 1.38, others have said 1.08?

I have reached out to both BRS and Apogee and didn’t get a straight answer. Apogee didn’t direct me to a page with some correction factors but I don’t understand it.


im hoping I can get a consensus on what (if any) correction factor I should use.

I have a photon V2 fixture

I understand I should have rented the 510 but it’s too late now.

1.08 is the immersion correction multiplier.mq should automatically apply that since its an
Underwater meter.

Correcting for led spectrum is a bit tricky.

Any guess on how far off my numbers might be without a correction factor?

Depends on how much blue or actinic you are using.
AFAICT generally the error isn't critical.

Not a "correction" to be applied. Just know that it under reports spectrum below 450nm unlike the newer 510 meter.

I’m sorry to say I really don’t understand how the under reporting in the chart affects my PAR readings? This is all new to me.

If there isn’t a good correction factor I would be interested in knowing if the readings will be so far off I can’t use them.

For example, if I get a reading of 200 from the 210 and the actual number should be 220 it’s probably not a issue. But, if the actual number should be 250+ then it might be an issue.

Ok. I guess I will take the readings at face value knowing they will be off, but gets me in the ball park.

What throws me off about this test is, they used T5s.... the 210 states it won't work on LED?
