@Rakie
Do you know the name (if possible the scientific one, not the marketing name) from this one?
I have something similar and could not find out what it is.
This is how mine looks like.
Bad mobile picture. I can get a better one.
Oopsie.....
Sadly I do not! Although that's just two branches we broke off, it's quite a thick bush with blunt tips. At first I thought it may have been some species of loripes or something but the growth pattern doesn't match.
it turns out to be a acropora sarmentosa most probably.
Funky name still to be added.
Nice dude ! Do you ship? lolCut some zoas! GB Buttkissers, BigR space chaos. Mostly singles, a few doubles, and a couple triples.
Here are the Chaos frags
These are the GB Buttkissers
Lots of cutting done in an hour or so.
Still have Bowsers, Moneyshots, Space Monsters, Vampires, Rainbow Incinerators, Pink Diamonds, Sunny D, jokers, and.. probably a dozen more colonies to cut. Frankly, I'm not sure i'll ever get around to all of them lol.
Nice dude ! Do you ship? lol
Maybe we will figure something out once they heal up I’m just in the south bay, shipping should be pretty safe to here haha.Yes I do. I haven't lately since the weather has been freezing things solid all over the rest of the country lol

What do you do if it’s fully encrusted on rock instead of a plug? I had a heck of a time fragging my palys a few months back.Sounds good.
When I frag I typically cut them cleanly with a razor blade and then cut the frag plug itself, and then put them in lugols while the glue sets. Because of this they're usually good to go in a day or two. They usually open same day. I could never manage to cut them off the plugs like some people, at best I had 50/50 results doing that.
If anybody reading this sucks at fragging zoas like I did... Do it this way instead, it made a huge difference for me LOL
Nice nice, makes sense. Do you have any sort of like, squirt blocker? Lol. Those guys kept launching goo all over my fish room. With safety in mind I treated it all as pure palytoxin lol, and cleaned that room hardcore with bleach, and I jumped in the shower lol. But it was very nerve racking knowing it’s so poisionious. so much so that I really don’t want to frag zoa’s or paly’s again. Any pro tips to not get paly goo in your eyes or in your wife’s eyes lol? I also wear goggles obviously; but humans touch their face a few times a minuite, I don’t want to have a slip up and be blind or wind up dead like sonny bono.A combination of bone cutters, and dykes (cable cutters). I just snip off at the base of the coral and the rock tends to break along the coral flesh, then you can just razor blade the flesh and complete the cuts with more fine tipped bone cutters.
The issue is for this, it typically means removing the rock. not always easy depending on where it is.
Much easier to see when they are closed.
Maybe next time I frag a colony I'll take pics during the process, but it looks like you did what I would do.
My other suggestion would be to get 2-3" frag discs and start them there. By the time they fill out the disks they will look natural, and are easily removed still.
