I've been feeding my dendro Fauna Marin LPS pellets for the past month or so... growth has been amazing. I did a 3 day blackout to get rid of Dino's, which worked. :D I turned the lights back on two days ago.

But, the dendro is doing this. It did take some pellets yesterday, but it's condition has gotten worse. When I turned on the lights after the blackout, it was much more yellow than usual.

Could it be from a pH drop due to the fact that there was no photosynthesis during the blackout?

It's possible.. but none of my other corals are affected. 3 clams, zoas, ricordeas... I'll have to check. I have an unreliable Nutrimar pH kit though.

I would assume PH drop and the fact that it could have been light shocked! Its like this:

If you havent seen light for 3 days, your eyes are going to be sinsitive to light when your eyes see the light again. Its the same concept for corals. If a corals skin isnt exposed to much light after 3 days and all the sudden the lighting is back,I would expect the coral to bleach out.

You needed to slowly acclimate your corals back to the light. After all,Dendros are not the most phytosyinthetic corals out there. If it were SPS I wouldnt be as worried, but this isnt an SPS coral!

It was already starting to do this in the darkness though, it was the first thing I noticed when I turned the light back on. It's just gotten worse.

I was having some pH issues a few months back and many of my corals looked perfectly fine and showed no stress. At a pH of 7.7 and a few times 7.6 I began to lose some chalices that previously had been perfectly healthy. My acans were fine at that pH. So your scenario is plausible. I'd think that if you tested your pH now it would be at a normal level because you returned to your normal light regime and your tank has plenty of photosynthesis to bring your pH up. Do you run kalk? If you do test your pH test it at like 3 or 4am when it will prob be at its lowest point. Generally above 7.8 is ok.

I don't run kalk. The pH sounds like a likely culprit.
