Could anybody identify what this is for me it looks like the tip of a cotton swab

Are you able to get a better photo, particularly one with the blues turned off if that's possible (just daylight or use a flashlight or light from the room)? The contrast is too high to tell.

What is the OP dipping for and what are you suggesting they dip in? It might help the OP and the community at large if you could share whatever you were able to determine.

I couldn’t see the picture clearly, but it sounds like a pineapple sponge?
