At 50% and 25% you would be getting about 240par at the surface of 24” your is only say 19” at the surface so you will be getting a lot more. What corals do you have ?

I have gsp which appears to be thriving, Duncan doing well, candy canes struggling, yellow scroll struggling, and a shroom looking good. They’re ordered oldest to newest. Tank is about 4 month old and reefled90 on about a month.

I currently have the ReefLED on my Innovative Marine 20 gallon. So far so good, but I do have a broad question regarding the preset color temperatures rated in Kelvin. If you select one of the pre-sets and then modify the intensity of the blue, white or both, does that also alter the color temperature?

For example: say you set RL50-18K as your program from the schedule and then adjusted the blue and white to 85% and 95% respectively. Would that adjust the 18,000 Kelvin color temperature as well? How does the change in color temperature (if there is one) tie in with PAR?

Good question. I would say if you was to say set it at 18k then adjust it say higher then you temp would just go up to say 19k or vice versa if you was to go lower then anything between 12k and 18k. That’s just my thoughts though.

Where in the tank have you got your coral that are not so happy, I take it the candy cane low and the yellow scroll high ?

I've moved the candy cane to the sand bed partly shaded to see if it recovers, I moved the scroll to a shaded area as it was appearing to bleach.

Maybe turn your lights down a bit as your probably getting around 300 par at surface if not more and your scroll is what needs the most light with what corals you have and if that appears to be bleached then I would say there set to High. Good luck with them

I was definitely too high up at 60-70% for a little while, so hopefully I caught it quick enough and everything will go into recovery mode.

I'm running a 50 on a 14g IM, running blues at 100% whites were at 100% reduced down to 50% and moved again to 30% Just now. I also run a SPS dom tank, my pc rainbow is more of a purple yellow but growth is amazing, my orange passion is beautiful. I have been growing sea lettuce like crazy, guessing the white spectrum was the main reason (no3- 2 ppm po4-.03ppm). Tank is 5 months old.

Has anyone else have algea issues running whites so high?

I got a huge algae spike when I got to high intensity. I’ve dialled it back now and all good.

No need to have whites on 100% that’s why you have algae issues

At 100 white and 100 blue you was getting 500 par at the surface on a 20” tank woth light mount 7” above the tank. If you dropped your white to 50% and kept blues at 100% you would get around 470 par. Not sure on the depth of your tank but I guess with it only being 14g it’s not 20” deep so you will be getting more par than stated.

this is my 65g with two of the RS 50w I just upped them to 35% blue and 25% white I had them at 25 blue and 15 white for a month or so. I just nabbed my first SPS stick so I ramped them up a little after it was in the rank for about a week. So far the tour has seems to be growing great as you see new little heads are peaking. My GSP is very green, hasn’t really grown since it was removed from a nano tank a year ago but looks great. The stick I’m still monitoring as I don’t really know what to look for yet health wise except for browning really.

other than that I love the lights especially for their price and WiFi ability. Only thing I don’t like is when you adjust them it completely shuts the lights off and back on. Mine also have some coil whine sometimes.

12" deep, 4" down I'd expect a par around 350. That's exactly what I'm looking for. PC rainbow loses its red and gains more yellow color with higher par, orange passion color should pull less green and more orange at higher pars. Getting good sps growth and sps color with high par is what I'm trying to accomplish.

I’m just in the process of cranking mine up if you have blues at 75% and white at 37% that’s should give you around 350 par at the surface and. 15k spectrum

Okay guys I have a 10 gallon nano . 10x12x20 I ditched my fluval 2.0 and kesil a80 tuna blue for this red Sea 50 . I have a green bta a leather, Kenya and just got a acro frag. What do you guys recommend my intensity should be?
