hi everyone! 😙 im thinking im going to pull my yellow Coris wrasse out of my display (if I can catch him with food) and put him temporarily in the sump, I want to reset the hierarchy. he's bullying the **** out of my leopard wrasse and my possum wrasse just randomly. (he's shot up in size and I fear he's trying to be top wrasse now) (this has been going on for two weeks) my refugium is plenty large enough to hold him a few days. has anyone had success with this? if so, how many days should I leave him in there?
OR would you say it's not worth my time?

thanks friends :)

However I haven't had any luck with that tactic. How big is the tank?

I think the direction you go will depend largely on the motive behind the aggression.

If the aggression is territorial, reorganizing your rock-scape can help. By moving landmarks in the tank, the fish get "lost" and reestablish their territory all over again.

I don't know if "sumping" this guy for a few days will help. Once you put it back in the display, he will likely go back to his old ways in a familiar environment.

How big is your tank and how is it stocked?

It DEF seems territorial. He's got about 5-6 rocks he's decided he doesn't want them near and if they even come close he chases them and pecks at them. My tank has

A blue eye bristletooth tang
A yellow coris wrasse
Leopard wrasse
Possum wrasse
3 red fire fish
2 clowns
1 starry blenny.

I have some sand bed dwellers that he obviously won't ever notice it feels like LOL

What I've done when my purple tang was being a nightmare was sump him for a day and then create a divider in the tank with egg crate, and keep them separated. And after a few days it seemed to chill out and most of the drama was over and I just removed the divider. Surprised your wrasse is bullying the other, I have 2 and they are super mellow.

I'm surprised too. All his life he's been super chill until now. What did you make the divider out of

That certainly is a big enough tank, although some people would say a Tang shouldn't be in anything less than a 180.

I feel rearranging the rock work may be effective.
