the glass on the front is 2-3mm thicker than the sides the stand is fine no bowing or warping and has remained level allround
I have a feeling you are going to keep asking until somebody tells you what you want to hear. These tanks fail for several reasons combined.

The time and skill required to:
-Fix the stand to properly support the tank
-disassemble and remove every trace of silicone
-reassemble perfectly all in one shot, no cold joints
-add eurobraces

…and get it all correct with peace of mind that it will hold?

I think you are biting of more than you can chew, but go for it if that is what you are waiting to hear.

@Joe Glass Cages maybe this fine person needs a competitive tank quote

@Fish Fan has resealed tanks i think
I have indeed, but I've since been told it's not a good to just reseal the inside 🤪 That, and I've only done standard tanks, I've never tried to reseal a tank like this. But thank you for the shout-out!

The OP's labor is free and the materials are negligible so I would give it a go. Plenty of expertise out there on how to do it and I would not hesitate to give it a try. It's worthless in it's current state and it sounds like he cannot afford a new tank.

This is incredibly unsettling that Red Sea would keep selling these tanks. They should pull them all off the market and not sell any more until they full address the issues! I’m so sorry you are dealing with this! I hope you are able to get back on track quickly!

Easy advice to give if you have never torn a large tank down and put it back together. I have the experience and ability and would never build my own glass tank.

I have seen many posts now about silicone failures and today mine went, chaos ensued for about 5 mins whilst tank emptied itself. Luckily no real damage and managed to save livestock (10 week old tank running but i bought 2nd hand) the full set up was a steal so im not mad about it!
what im looking for is options!! i do not have the money to replace tank, cabinet etc
what are peoples thought on getting in resealed and widening the cabinet base and reinforcing as this design seems like a glaringly obvious design flaw as the front glass over hangs the cabinet,so must be under great pressure
ineed help and advice plz "red sea reefer 350"
I am sorry to hear about this! And after only having it for 10 weeks. That seller really dodged a bullet 🤣

Please consider that if you try to rebuild this tank and don't get it just right, you may be looking at a. second catastrophic failure. I would suggest that you either downsize and get a new tank that is affordable, or scour your local Facebook Marketplace for a used, non-Red Sea tank.

Good luck going forward!

If I was in OP's position, I would give it a try too....but I'm into all the DIY stuff anyway....

Bean, It's a 70 Gallon Tank, not all that large. That's one of the reasons I'd give it go, but I'm into all sorts of DIY stuff also. And I would just re-assemble it (no bracing) but would modify the stand.

OP, Are you in Surrey BC?

FWIW, Red Sea went with thicker glass on their G2 models which looks like was the fix. It would appear the G2s Have the same failure rate as the industry norm. So I think it’s best you part ways with this tank and either buy a G2 or a different manufacturer. However, anytime you buy used, it’s Russian roulette. You’re hoping it was moved in a way that didn’t comprise the silicone integrity, it was properly levelled in the previous place etc….

Building its cheap, it’s failure that stands to be far more expensive than.

How much does it cost if it fails catastrophically in 9 months? Livestock? While out of the house?

So my tank is dropped off at one of the worlds famous tank builders and he reassures me that it is the ridiculous floating front feature. will post photos when he has worked his magic,
There are several contributing factors. A "floating" front is fine if engineered properly.

Glass thickness -- flex, joint area.
Silicone -- physical properties (flex, peel, tensile).
Torsion -- support.
QC -- skill of assembler, environment (dust, temp), supplies QC (bad batches, etc.)
etc.

In a perfect world maybe they don't fail. Add in variables from the skill of the assembler, to lower then expected tensile strengths, imperfect stands or stand placement, etc. Each "issue" erodes into the safety factor and and somepoint failures begin to occur. Remove any one variable or design parameter and the system doesn't fail.

I can't imagine wanting to have somebody disassemble those glass panels, make adjustments and put them back together for any reasonable price unless they are doing you a tremendous favor
