Added a some GSP's and a small colony of zoas.

My fuge is crawling with copepods and I'm seeing them making it up to the main tank so I'm pretty happy with how things are going

Well I've decided to upgrade the sump already. I wanted to add a couple things that didn't fit in the 10g and since this tank will eventually be upgraded into a larger cube I decided to go with a trigger 20c. As this is my finance's idea I needed to pick a color she liked (the sump is out in the open) and she love blue. That restricted me to the sapphire series which while I liked actually has a small fuge area due to a nicer filter sock set up. I was really torn since I liked the ruby 20c but wanted the sapphire color. Well long story short my problem was solved wen I found a site selling Ruby 20c style triggers that had been made in blue acrylic (I guess only 5 were made). Well it was a good deal so I picked one up.

It just arrived yesterday and wow are these gorgeous sumps. Plenty of room for my Reef Octopus 100sss that I want to put in along with some reactors.

Now to get a new return pump (I'm considering a ecotech vectra or one of the new cor pumps. I'm also going. To build a manifold with 3 1/2" outputs plus the return output so in an expand in the future.

I'm psyched about how big the fuge is now since it will allow me to set up half of it with a Kessil a180 as a frag section and the other half for cheato

So I'm on ski vacation in WV and I was just checking in on my tank, the moonlight looks good and the GSP are happy so things must be going well

So a friend just tore down his reef and gave me a couple frags, he was moving so he gave me everything that was left in his sump. I have more than this tank can handle now so finger crossed. I'm going to take some to my LFS but I'm hoping most of the frags make it. They are all small and I'm going to mount them all on plugs tomorrow. I added about 6 lbs of well cured live rock as well so hopefully that helps offset some of the bioload.

4 different acros, 4 torch heads, 6 chalices, a bunch of different zoas, a couple blue mushrooms, favia, and some montipora to round things out

Looking awesome!!
Nice job

Thanks, I added way more at once than I would like at one time but with all the Xenia, live rock and cheato in the sump I'm hoping the biological filtration can keep up. I have a seneye running and it has shown .001 NH3 since I added everything so at least I'll get some warning if ammonia spikes. Going to need to keep an eye on alk now with all these hard corals in the tank.

Well the tank is doing great after the new stock was added. Nitrates were at 2-3 ppm since I added the Xenia the nitrates have dropped to 0 so I'm now feeding with reed roids and reef chili to get them back up (I have great polyp extension on my acropora and other sps). I'm also dosing about 15ml of Red Sea foundation alk and calcium a day based on daily alk measurements that showed alk dropped to 8.9. The 15 ml has kept it at around 9.3 the last four days.

Now I need to wait for my cor to be delivered so I can add my new sump. I got my fittings for my manifold so I've been dry fitting them together

Exciting build man, I bet you're already wanting to go bigger!

I'm looking for a stand for my frag tank that I'm plumbing into my current system and I really like the simple look of yours.

What is it? Steel? How do you like it thus far? Where did you find it?

Thanks, it just hit the 2 month mark and I can't get measurable nitrate or Phosphate levels no matter how much reef chili and reef roids I feed my coral. I have great polyp extension on everything and tons of microfauna in the fuge and tank. I'm about to add a couple dosers as I have to do twice a day Red Sea foundation alk/cal dosing to keep up with demand.

Overall I'm pretty excited for this build and can't wait for my cor15 to arrive so I can upgrade the sump.

As for the stand it is actually a end table from a furniture store. If you look at the pics it matches the TV stand next to it as well as my coffee table.

Here are some pics

The sump just waiting for my new cor15

I think I'm going to continue using the Tunze 9001 primarily for gas exchange. This will allow me to grow cheato in the skimmer section of the sump and then use the whole fuge area as a display fuge for Xenia, mushrooms, polyps as well as some LPS corals. I just got a used current marine led to put over it and will continue with the h80 over the fuge.

Looks like a pretty low nutrient system as far as fish go. I tend to stock my displays heavy and overload on filtration and nutrient export. Both have proven to work well and it looks like everything's working nicely for you!

Ill have to check out a few places for my stand. The tank is hooking into my existing sump so I dont need any room under the stand. Thanks for the info

It's definitely low nutrient, I just got a Hanna Phosphate checker in the mail today (tangent: going to need to order more reagents didn't realize it only came with 6 tests) I tested my tank and it shows .03 ppm so nitrates and phosphates are really low. I'm feeding a heaping scoop of reef chili and reef roids twice a day plus a algae wafer a day for the hermits and still nothing. I guess my fuge is doing its job. I have produced much skimmate in my skimmer since I added the Xenia either.

If the Xenia plays nice and just stays in the sump it may be a great nutrient control that I can sell

On a different note my concierge called this afternoon and told me one of my tanks was leaking into my neighbors apt. Needless to say I freaked out and headed straight home from work to find everything completely full. Turns out a water storage container for my mistking mister on my terrarium sprung a pinhole leak and a small trickle of water made it under the wall (we have floating walls since it's an old warehouse building downtown). This has definitely made me decide to add a couple leak detection units to my apex. Guess I'm ordering three detectors and I might as well throw a flow sensor in while I'm at it.

Just got the tracking number for my cor15, I ordered a ldk and a 1/2" flow sensor. Next week will be some major changes under the stand lol
