It’s hard to say, but they look a little closer to the three small long-polyp toadstools that I have front and center under that ledge. The blue pictures don’t do them much justice, but under my daytime spectrum, they are almost identical, just judging by the photos.
Regardless, thats definitely a pretty sweet toadstool! If anyone picks some up, feel free to show them off.

I’m not in it for sales, so by all means, if anyone would rather go through an official vendor, that’s totally cool.
Any frags available?

After many years I finally got my hands on a legit weeping willow leather toadstool! It’s been so long since I’ve seen 1 that I thought could be the real thing. I found this piece at a swap about 2 months ago and immediately I knew it had to be the real deal because it was in a very low flow corner of the gentleman’s frag tank and it’s polyps we’re draped over the edges and they were laying on the bottom of the tank. MAN WAS THAT EXCITING TO COME ACROSS! I don’t think I’ve seen a true weeping willow since the early/mid 2000’s and this one really stood out compared to all of the toadstools being sold as weeping willows in recent years (I’ve purchased a lot of the look alike’s over the past 2yrs through online stores and not 1 was the real deal) I’ve boosted the nitrates in the tank since then. I was a little worried that the tank’s parameters and flow wouldn’t please this coral considering the tank is aimed more towards sps but most lps and softies have done really well so far.

Other than dealing with a wave of aiptasia, everything's going great in the Red Sea. I've kicked off a successful berghia breeding project in a dedicated system, but now I'm overwhelmed with nudibranchs. They've done such a thorough cleaning job that I'll have to rehome some soon. Meanwhile, the toadstool coral has grown significantly, to the point where it's overshadowing other corals. While it's become an impressive showpiece, it's definitely time for a trim.

Now that it's really grown out, I have to say, this toadstool from Remy's lineage bears some striking resemblance to a true OG weeping willow toadstool. However, I'm fully aware it's not the authentic OG variety that circulated in the states back in the early/mid-2000s. Among the 4 or 5 different types of long polyp toadstool leathers I have, all marketed as 'weeping willow toadstools,' this one stands out. Its polyps might actually be slightly longer than the actual length of the toadstool's crown and stalk. Unlike the others I own, its polyps sway more freely, even with the heavy flow in my display tank the other “weeping willow” toadstools have fairly stiff polyps when they are fully extended. This variant has free flowing polyps that dwarf the others that I have. While fully extended a good amount of them will lay over the side with no flow but not all of them follow suit. I'm still glad I stumbled across this piece and added it to my collection because it's truly unique when compared side by side with other 'weeping willows' that thrive in the same display. With that said, I'll likely take some cuts from this piece soon. If anyone's interested in a frag, I can let you know when they're available, healed up, and attached to a solid base (either Marco rubble or a standard frag plug). I just wanted to be extra clear that I’m aware that it’s not what was around back in the day but it’s closer than most that are sold as being the real thing on the market right now.

Yours is the one I want/ From Remy's line. I am thinking about getting the BIOTA one that some others here got.

So I’ve got about 13–16 (lol, probably 16 🤣) medium and large WW style toadstool frags I’ve been hoarding. Like I said a while back, I prefer collecting and growing coral over selling them. I feel bad, though, because a few of you were really interested in grabbing a frag, and I promised to share once my mother colony was big enough. She’s now about 11.5 inches across during daylight(probably more like 12in atp) , with ridiculously long tentacles when my clowns aren’t thrashing around like maniacs. You’ll notice certain areas on the mother aren’t as long as other parts….. that’s clownfish for ya. I actually wish they wouldn’t host my corals due to how aggressive they get once they settle in.

Anyway, good news these frags are chunky! They’re on 1.3–1.4 inch disks, giving you an idea of the toadstool’s diameter and how long the polyps already are. Some are in high PAR, turning a creamy, slightly yellowish tan under full spectrum, while others are in lower PAR. The XL feathery polyps are always a bit lighter (honestly, some of the largest, most feathery toadstool polyps I’ve seen in years). These frags have thick, fully grown stalks leading to the crown, so you know they’ve been healed for a while. I wanted to ensure I could farm this strain sustainably before letting any go.

Here’s a sample. I need to photograph and number each frag for WYSIWYG sales. I know a few of you called dibs right after I started the thread, so you’ll definitely get priority if you’re still looking. It’s been a while, so I get it if you found frags elsewhere, totally understandable given the delay! Sorry to anyone who’s been waiting.
